Happy Ganymede Day!

September 27, 2011 - 3:36 pm No Comments

It’s finally here! Ganymede officially hits stores – and e-readers, and online retailers – today! And I do very much hope you’ll take a chance on this, my fourth Clockwork Century novel,* set in my alternate history universe with a drawn-out American Civil War complicated by a peculiar form of zombie uprising!

Here – allow me to provide you with links, for your clicking pleasure:

Man, I dipped into the exclamation marks again. Well, can you blame me? I’m so terribly excited about this one! Now I just have to run around all over the internet, updating my websites and widgets and information, oh my …

Thanks for reading, everyone, and if you take a chance on this weird little book, I do hope you enjoy it!

* Counting Clementine, a smaller project that was released through Subterranean Press. If you’re wondering why it’s so hard to come by as of late, click here.

California love

Many thanks to the folks at the San Francisco Chronicle (via SFGate) for their mighty fine write-up of Dreadnought! Highlights include the following:

It’s easy to poke fun at the Victorian affectations of steampunk, but Dreadnought has the propulsive power of a straight-ahead adventure story, and Priest handles the alternate history without needless frippery. Courageous, competent Mercy makes a compelling heroine, and the novel has much to say about the futility of war in any era. Dreadnought is tough but entertaining, another solid entry in a well-constructed series.

Clementine Update

July 19, 2010 - 6:04 pm No Comments

Via the publisher’s web page announcement – get one while you still can, because Clementine will be sold-out on publication.

“… [Subterranean] currently have orders for more copies than we can fill, so we’ll be forced to allocate quantities sent to our wholesale and large online retail accounts. We’ll leave the order page for Clementine up for a few more days, so you can lock in a copy by ordering direct, but once we actually start shipping the book, we’ll make it out of print in the store.”

In other words, get it while it’s hot – because precious few of these will ship to stores. And when these gorgeous hardbacks are gone, they’re gone for good.

Edited to add: IF YOU HAVE ALREADY PREORDERED from Subterranean Press, have no fear. Your books will be on their way shortly! If you preordered from a large retailer like Amazon, everything SHOULD be fine, but the publisher cannot guarantee it. FROM HERE ON OUT the only way to be dead sure you get a copy is to order directly from the publisher.

(However, if you were slow on the draw there is hope – for this book will be out in trade paperback next year. )

When it rains, it pours

Just a quick drive-by post to announce today’s great news: Boneshaker is a finalist for the 2010 Locus Award! Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who went over there and cast a vote — I’m 100% psyched to have made the ballot, and I’m absolutely honored to have a place on that list.

The only downside is that I can’t attend the ceremony, even though it’s right here in Seattle. Alas, the awards weekend is scheduled at the same time as the ALA conference in D.C., and I’m already confirmed for that (with plane tickets and everything). Ah, well. It’s amazing all the same, and once again, I simply can’t thank you reading, voting folks enough.
